Thelma Marie Doser was born on July 4, 1921, in St Anthony, Iowa, she was the daughter of Theodore and Emma (Richerodt) Doser. Thelma attended school in the St Anthony Community School District graduating with the class on 1938. On May 17, 1941, Thelma was united in marriage to Lawrence Charles Guckert at St Joseph's Catholic Church in State Center, Iowa. Thelma was a great cook, baker and always had a big garden along with strawberries, black raspberries and concord grapes. Thelma cherished every minute she got to spend with her grandchildren. She was the hardest working and devoted farmwife. Thelma was unlike other farmwives as she labored side by side with her husband in all farm operations. As Thelma and her husband never owned large modern equipment, farming was labor intense. Thelma endured three hardship's in her life: loss of her husband to cancer in 1988, her son Larry, dying unexpectedly in 2004 and her son Danny, dying in 2005. When her farm became a Century Farm in 2005 it was bittersweet as on October 16, 2005 her son Danny died. In her later years she enjoyed watching the crops being planted and harvested. Because of failing health she had to leave the farm after 70 years.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Joyce Marie Guckert of Marshalltown, Iowa. Grandchildren: Trevor (Traci) Guckert of Rhodes, Iowa, Jeremy Guckert of Rhodes, Iowa and Katie Guckert of Baxter, Iowa, great-grandchildren, Danny Blevins and Tinsley Guckert, and sister, Marcella Bryant of Marshalltown, Iowa.

In death she rejoins her parents, Theodore and Emma, Husband, Lawrence, two sons, Larry and Danny Guckert. Sisters, Neva Blink and Rocelia Hilleman, Brothers, Louis, Milo "Skippy" and Lawrence Doser.
