I was back in June/July to help with my father, Dr. John Garland. I then returned to Marshalltown in late September for my 45th high school reunion. What a night and day difference.
My trip back in the summer was on my Harley and I can't ever remember the roads being in such horrible shape, thump thump thump and potholes everywhere. Driving anywhere made me feel that I was either ruining my tires or suspension.
To have such a surprising change in such a short period of time was amazing. Kudos to Marshalltown to making such a vast change throughout the city. It made the trip back so much more enjoyable.
