KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Grundy Center High School graduate Abby Graves was named to the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association's all-conference volleyball honorable mention list at the end of her junior campaign at Northwest Missouri State University.

Graves, a two-time Outstanding Player of the NICL West Division during her prep playing days, was second on the Bearcats with 275 kills but tops with 2.99 kills per set. The 5-foot-9 outside hitter also contributed 89 digs, 24 blocks and seven service aces this season for Northwest.

The Bearcats finished the season 12-18 overall, tying for seventh in the 12-team MIAA with a 6-10 league mark.

Graves, a three-sport standout at Grundy Center, was a three-time all-NICL West first-team selection, a three-time Times-Republican All-Area first-teamer, a two-time all-stater and a member of the Class 2A state all-tournament team in 2010.
