For the second time this season, Marshalltown Community College sophomore center Mackenzie Gott has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference's women's basketball Defensive Player of the Week.

Last week, the Tigers (10-2) extended their win streak to eight games with a comeback victory over Ellsworth, only to see it ended on Saturday by nationally ranked Iowa Central.

Gott notched her seventh double-double of the season in last Wednesday's win at Ellsworth, pouring in 13 of her 19 points in the second half while pulling down eight of her career-high 15 rebounds after the break.

Against Iowa Central, Gott notched 15 points and six rebounds in MCC's first loss since Nov. 15.

Gott, an Oskaloosa graduate, ranks second in the ICCAC Division II with 10.2 rebounds per game and is ninth in scoring (15.2 ppg).

The Tigers are off until after the holiday break, hosting top-ranked NIACC in a conference contest on Jan. 4, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Student Activity Center.
