Hazel Baer, 85, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013, at the Iowa Veterans Home.

Hazel Gertrude Baer was born on March 14, 1928, in Des Moines, Iowa; she was the daughter of Glenn and Helena (Hoffman) Cronin. She attended school in the Des Moines area graduating from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1946. On April 2, 1948, Hazel was united in marriage to Lyle Baer Sr. in Des Moines, Iowa. Hazel and Lyle made their home in Marshalltown. She had worked at Lennox Industries, Fisher Controls; Hazel had owned an addressing and mimeographing service and worked at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Hazel was a Lifetime member of Marshalltown Women's Bowling Association, and Lifetime member of Lincoln Alumni, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and Past President. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, but above all she loved her family and keeping track of all their activities.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Lyle "Butch" (Mary) Baer Jr. of Marshalltown, Iowa, Dianna (Stan) Good of Franklin, Indiana, and Dena Baer of Marshalltown, Iowa. Grandchildren; Jillisa (Eric) Cantrell, Jennifer (Jason) Perry, Heather (Matt) Hansen, Rebecca (Jeremy) Rakowicz, and Holly(Eric) Howland. Great-grandchildren: Colton, Conner, Olivia, Elayna, Mason, Bryar, Kerrigan, Hannah, and Samuel, Jocelyn, Meredith and Mallory
In death Hazel rejoins her parents, Glenn and Helena, husband, Lyle Sr., and siblings.
