LE GRAND - Chad Plaehn poured in a career-high 27 points, Bridger Claassen had a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds, and the GMG boys' basketball team rallied from an early deficit to force overtime and defeat East Marshall, 75-74, in Monday's non-conference game.
Host East Marshall jumped out to a 23-15 lead after the opening quarter and clinged to a 38-36 lead at the half. GMG (12-7) outscored the Mustangs 19-10 in the third period to steal a seven-point lead, only to see East Marshall (1-19) erase it with a 19-12 advantage in the fourth.
Ben Terrones tallied a career-best 36 points for East Marshall, yet the Mustangs lost their seventh straight.
Dru Boliver added 13 points, Nate DeBondt had 12 and Austin Briney 11 more for East Marshall, which returns to action with a cross-NICL game at home Thursday against Hudson.
GMG, which got an additional 11 points from Austin Vaughn, travels to CAL tonight and BCLUW Friday.

LE GRAND - Taylor Fricke charted a double-double of 11 points and 14 rebounds, and Ashley Allen also scored 11 points as East Marshall ousted the GMG girls' basketball team in non-conference action Monday.
Mariah Fritz contributed seven points, three assists and three steals, while Meriel Leavy had seven points and eight rebounds in the win. Maci Fritz chipped in six points while Brooke Miller had 10 boards for the Mustangs (6-15).
Olivia Barritt led GMG (5-15) with eight points.
GMG closes out Iowa Star Conference and regular-season play tonight at CAL, and the Wolverines host Waterloo Christian in Thursday's 7 p.m. opener of Class 1A regional play.
Dike-New Hartford 76, Grundy Center 35
DIKE - Briana Weber scored 15 points, Brooke Morgan added 12 and Ashley Dumler had 11 as Class 2A No. 8 Dike-New Hartford (17-2) won its seventh straight, 76-35 over Grundy Center in cross-NICL action.
Stephanie Faust paced Grundy Center (11-9) with 10 points, and Ally Jansen added seven. Jessica Ackerson contributed four rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Hillary Samo saw her first court time on the varsity squad, scoring two points in roughly 5 minutes of action. The Grundy Center senior, who underwent treatment for a cancerous mass found in her chest in late July, was declared to be in remission in January. Coincidentally, Monday's game served as the Coaches vs. Cancer game at Dike-New Hartford.
The Spartans host Columbus Catholic of Waterloo in tonight's regular-season finale.
