Woman breaks into ex's house, assaults him
A Marshalltown woman landed a felony charge after she allegedly broke into her ex-husband's house and assaulted him.
Tressa Ridout, 33, was arrested Monday, at the victim's house on the 300 block of South 10th Street, after police received a call from the victim stating she broke in his house, had a knife and was out of control.
Capt. Mike Hanken, with the Marshalltown Police Department, said after the incident, the victim had scratches on his neck and forehead.
The victim did not require medical attention.
Ridout is charged with first-degree burglary, a Class B felony and aggravated domestic assault.
She is currently being held in the Marshall County Jail on a $25,000 cash or surety bond.

The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 28. The court ordered a substance abuse evaluation to be taken with the results to be submitted within 60 days of today's date. The bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.
Colin McCalley, of Jesup, made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. He pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $282.75, due within 30 days of today's date.
Kisha C. Amundson, 3009 Arlington Drive, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge and a disorderly conduct charge. She pleaded guilty to both charges and the fines are $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 for each charge. Payments are due within 30 days of today's date.
John Michael Thompson II, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order charge and a domestic abuse assault charge. The public defender's office was appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 18. The court ordered that if Thompson owned or possessed any firearms or ammunition he is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff's Office within 24 hours and make arrangements to surrender them. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
Luis Angel Cisneros Garcia, 429 E. Ingledue St., made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse charge. He requested to speak with an attorney before entering a plea. The court appointed Breanna Weber as counsel. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Aug. 26 in Magistrate Court. The court ordered that if Cisneros Garcia owned or possessed any firearms or ammunition, he is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff's Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them. Cisneros Garcia was released on his own recognizance.
Anita Nevarez, 503 Summit St., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred-habitual offender charge, a no insurance charge and a speeding charge. The public defender's office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 28. Nevarez was released on her own recognizance.
Greg Newsome Jr., of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for an arraignment hearing charge. Scott Hunter will continue as counsel. The arraignment hearing is rescheduled for 1 p.m. on July 17. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

On Tuesday, John Michael Thompson II, of Milton, was arrested on two Marshalltown Police Department warrants charging him with domestic assault and violation of a no-contact order.
On Monday, Michael James Grommet, 1101 S. Third Ave., was arrested for three counts of probation violation.
On Monday, Stephanie Morgan Webber, 1511 Sanford Ave., was arrested for probation violation.
On July 4, Gregory Curtis Newsome Jr., of Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear for an arraignment hearing.
