MASON CITY – North Tama High School senior Kodi Hillman is one of five recent signees to the North Iowa Area Community College softball squad.

Hillman, an outfielder, was sixth on the Redhawks this past summer with a .384 batting average. She finished the season with 33 hits in 86 at-bats, including 10 doubles, a triple, a home run, 21 RBIs and 25 runs scored. Hillman was 9-for-9 in stolen bases and also posted a sterling .946 fielding percentage with just five errors in 92 chances. She had seven outfield assists.

“Kodi is a quick kid with baserunning savvy,” said NIACC coach Christi Weiser. “She works diligently on the details of her game and will be counted on to fly around in the outfield. She’s got good experience playing all three outfield positions and does a very nice job of working gap-to-gap offensively.”

NIACC went 18-30 last season, finishing 8-16 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.
