IOWA CITY – Peter Jok will return to Iowa men’s basketball team next season after removing his name from the NBA draft.

University officials announced Friday that the shooting guard has decided to stay on the team for his senior year. Coach Fran McCaffery says Jok’s senior leadership will play a key role for the team next season.

“I’m excited to be returning for my senior season and leading our team,” said Jok. “This has been an invaluable learning experience for my career, and I appreciate all the support I have received from Coach McCaffery and the entire staff.”

Jok averaged 16.1 points a game for the Hawkeyes last season and was a second-team All-Big Ten selection.
