Ex-Spartan honored by D2Football

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Truman State punter Brock Rohler was named the D2Football.com Special Teams Player of the Week following his performance in the Bulldogs’ 37-0 victory against Lincoln University on Saturday.

Rohler, a sophomore from Grundy Center, won the same honor from the Great Lakes Valley Conference after averaging 37.2 yards per punt with all five kicks being downed inside the Lincoln 20-yard-line. Four of them ended up inside the Blue Tigers’ 10.

This marks the first weekly conference honor for Rohler, who was a second-team all-state punter by the Iowa Newspaper Association during his senior season at Grundy Center High School. This fall, Rohler is averaging 38.9 yards on 18 punts with 10 of them ending inside the opponent’s 20. His season long is a 61-yard punt.
