STATE CENTER – Lincoln Valley Golf Course saw holes-in-one on back-to-back days earlier this month.

Bob Bean aced the 18th hole on Sept. 4, and on Sept. 5 it was Harvey Varnum’s turn on the 13th. Varnum’s shot – using his 7-iron on the 141-yard hole – was witnessed by Galen Chitty and Mike Kuhl.

ISU’s Hilton Madness set for Oct. 14

AMES – Hilton Madness, an exhibition night for the Iowa State men’s and women’s basketball teams, is slated for Oct. 14 at 8 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum.

Admission is free to the event, where the men’s and women’s programs will participate in a slam dunk contest, 3-point contest and scrimmage. Alum Scott Siepker will be the emcee for the night.

Doors open at 7:15 p.m. for students, 7:30 p.m. for the public.

Team introductions will be first, followed by the 3-pont contest, dunk contest and the scrimmage will wrap up the night.
