MASON CITY — The Marshalltown Community College volleyball team won twice at the NIACC triangular on Sunday, beating both Dakota County Technical College and Ellsworth CC in three-set sweeps.

The Tigers opened with a win over the DCTC Blue Knights, 25-16, 25-19, 25-21, and finished off their trip with a 25-21, 25-16, 25-19 win over Ellsworth.

“We had some stretches of really good volleyball today,” said MCC head coach Justin Hoskins. “We hurt ourselves with unforced errors at times, but we always found a way to work through them. If we can ever cut out some of the unforced errors, this team can do some really good things the rest of the season.”

The Tigers (10-5) are back at home tonight, entertaining Southeastern in an Iowa Community College Athletic Conference match at 7 p.m. inside the Student Activity Center.
