Carleton a finalist for Miller Award

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Iowa State junior women’s basketball player Bridget Carleton has been named a top-10 finalist for the Cheryl Miller Award, which recognizes the top small forwards in the country.

Carleton was one of only 20 players in the nation named to the initial watch list for the award. She is averaging 18.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.4 steals and 1.0 blocks per game so far this season for the Cyclones.

She is the only power-5 player in the country who leads her team in scoring, rebounding and assists.

In March, five finalists will be presented by the selection committee, and fans will also be able to vote online at hoophallawards.com. The winner will be announced during ESPN2’s telecast of the national semifinal games at the 2018 NCAA Women’s Final Four on March 30 in Columbus, Ohio.
