REINBECK — The North Iowa Cedar League senior game has been set for a March 16 showing, pitting the best of seniors from the West and East divisions against each other for one final game.

The game is open to all seniors in the conference, and there will be a 3-point shooting contest during halftime and a dunk contest following the final game. As of now there are scheduled to be two games, one boys and one girls, but depending on the response from the girls teams there may be two boys games instead.

Games will start at 6:30 p.m. on March 16 at Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School.

Helping Hands 3-on-3 hoops tourney

HUBBARD — The Helping Hands 32nd annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be held in the South Hardin Middle School gym in Hubbard on March 17.

There are still open slots in all divisions, starting with 2nd-4th graders and going all the way through post-high school teams.

Play begins at 8 a.m. for grades 2-8, then the high school teams take over at 4 p.m., followed by the post-high school teams at 6:36 p.m. Awards will be given to all four places in both of the championship and consolation brackets, depending on final standing. The cost is $39 for each three-person team.
