West Marshall girls win 4 events at NICL Indoor

WAVERLY — The West Marshall girls track and field team came away with four event titles at the North Iowa Cedar League Indoor Conference Meet on Thursday at Wartburg College.

Isabelle Gradwell won two events individually, winning the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.12 seconds and the high jump with a vault of 5 feet.

Gradwell was also part of both relay wins for the Trojans, team of Emma Meyer, Avril Sinning, Kayla Cripps and Gradwell winning the 4×400 with a time of 4:19.89 and the distance medley relay with of a time of 4:38.67.

Grundy Center managed three wins in the meet,two ndividually by Hailey Wallis and one by Kyah Luhring. Wallis took first in the 55 dash with a time of 7.59 seconds and she won the 400 with a time of 1:02.16.

Luhring won the long jump with by jumping 16-1.

Lily Ehlers was the only winner for Gladbrook-Reinbeck, taking first in the 3,000 for the Rebels with a time of 12:18.89.

Brylie Zeisneiss gave South Hardin it’s lone win by taking first in the shot put with a distance of 40-9, over a foot further than second place and a new school record for the Tigers.

Aubrie Fisher had the best finishes for AGWSR, finishing in second in the 400, 800 and 1,600.

BCLUW’s best event was the 55 hurdles, where Olivia Hughes and Lizzie Garber finished second and third respectively.

Melinda Puumala was the highest placer for East Marshall as she took third in the long jump with a distance of 15-11.75, less than two inches behind Luhring in first.
