Bobcat Tennis Academy to kick off this summer

A new opportunity is being served up in Marshalltown this summer, with the Bobcat Tennis Academy making its debut with a 12-session program in June and July.

The Bobcat Tennis Academy, led by Marshalltown High School boys head coach and USPTA Certified Coach James Christensen, is a non-profit corporation that aims to offer an affordable avenue for children of Marshall County to participate and grow in the game of tennis, grant aid and assistance to local tennis programs and award scholarships to tennis athletes.

“Having a high-quality and affordable K-12 tennis program for the boys and girls of Marshall County is going to be a huge plus for our youth and for our community. I look forward to seeing this grow,” Christensen said.

The Academy will offer five levels of classes that serve youth from kindergarten to high school. Age-appropriate balls, rackets and courts will be utilized to make tennis accessible to even the newest of players.

The first class doesn’t hit the courts until June 11, but space is limited. Cost for the 12-session program is $60. If you wish to enroll a student, you can find sign-up forms online at facebook.com/BobcatTennisAcademy, twitter.com/@Bobcat_TA or by contacting Christensen directly at 641-751-8258.
