Rockets knock off Trojans in 3A regional semifinals

EDDYVILLE — The West Marshall softball team lost in the Class 3A Region 6 semifinals to No. 6 Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Friday, 5-2.

The Trojans (22-9) trailed 4-0 in the top of the sixth inning but scored once in the sixth and once in the seventh to push the Rockets (30-7), but in the end it just wasn’t enough to pull out the victory.

Loran Nicholson took the loss for West Marshall, going the complete game while allowing 10 hits and striking out three.

Brooke Snider had a double and an RBI in her final game as a Trojan, while the other score was brought in off an error in the sixth.

Randie Richmond was the winning pitcher for EBF, allowing six hits and two runs in the complete game while striking out four. Taylor Reina was 2-for-4 for the Rockets with a home run and two RBIs as well.
