Vance nets 4th all-conference honor
Marshalltown senior Nate Vance was named to the Central Iowa Metropolitan League all-Iowa Conference first team as a utility player.
Vance helped lead the state-qualifying Bobcats this season, boasting a 3-1 record in conference play and an earned run average of 2.22.
Vance, a three-time first-team all-conference selection, also batted .349 while scoring with a team-high 31 runs. He also was 20-for-23 in stolen bases and had eight RBIs.
MHS junior Wade Canaday made his third all-conference team, garnering a nod as a second-team utility player. Canaday had a 1.59 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 2018. He also hit for a .283 average with 24 RBIs, 18 runs scored, 14 doubles and four home runs.
Kody Ricken made his third all-conference team by earning a spot on the honorable mention list, while Dru Dobbins, Dylan Eygabroad, Sam Irwin and Tate Kuehner each earned their second all-conference selection with an honorable mention.
Lucas Duff, Wyatt Himes and Brian Trowbridge rounded out the Bobcat honorable mention selections, their first of their career.
