Wollam ties for 34th at Iowa Open
RIVERSIDE — Marshalltown native Ben Wollam finished in a tie for 34th at the 85th Iowa Open, which concluded on Friday at Blue Top Ridge at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort.
Wollam finished at 2-under-par 214 over the three-day tournament, finishing Friday’s round with an even-par 72 after recording 71s on both Wednesday and Thursday.
Wollam was the winner of the 2013 Times-Republican City Golf Championship at just 19 years old.
Dan Woltman from Wisconsin won the tournament with a score of 16-under-par 200, beating out Tripp Kinney from Des Moines by two strokes. Kinney is currently on the Iowa State University golf team and was a two-time Class 4A state team champion at Waukee.
