MHS swim team falls to host Valley
WEST DES MOINES — The Marshalltown girls swimming and diving team wrapped its dual schedule on Tuesday with a loss to CIML Iowa Conference foe West Des Moines Valley, 104-72.
Erin Stanley and Kelsey Bartles were credited with individual event wins for the Bobcats on the night, with Stanley taking first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1 minute, 14.14 seconds, and Bartles placing first in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:26.34.
Marshalltown also got credited for a win in the 400 freestyle relay, as Taylor Hrabak, Alyssa Jordan, Taylor Jones and Stanley combined for a time of 4:34.28.
Cori Jorgenson earned second place in the 50 freestyle for MHS with a 27.60 and second in the 100 freestyle with a 1:01.94, Hannah Taylor got second in diving with a 223.35 and Hrabak was second in the 500 freestyle with a 5:57.87.
The Bobcats host their home diving invitational at the Marshalltown YMCA/YWCA on Saturday at 10 a.m., then they compete in the regional meet at Southeast Polk next week with diving on Monday and swimming on Thursday.
