Kelton Edwards

AMES — Marshalltown Community College sophomore Kelton Edwards was named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the ICCAC announced earlier this week.

Edwards led the Tigers to a win over Iowa Western Community College on Saturday in Council Bluffs, the first win for MCC over an ICCAC Division I opponent this year. Edwards had 26 points in the 71-56 victory, and he shot 12-for-24 from the floor in the process. He also tied for the team lead in rebounds with seven while playing all 40 minutes for the Tigers.

Edwards has scored in double figures in 24 of 27 games this year, including the last eight straight. He is the leading scorer in ICCAC play with 18.2 points per game, and he is the top scorer in conference games as well with 19 points per contest.
