MCC sophomore Edwards named to ICCAC 1st team

Marshalltown Community College sophomore Kelton Edwards was named to the NJCAA all-Region XI first team, the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference announced on Monday.

Edwards led the ICCAC in scoring this season with 18.4 points per game. He shot 45.8 percent from the floor in 31 games, and he had a conference-high 227 field goals. Edwards also averaged 4.8 rebounds per game for the Tigers, and in two Region XI playoff games he had 46 total points, including 30 in a win over Northeast Community College.

Joining Edwards as an all-region selection were sophomores Goran Vidovic and Eduardo Lane. Vidovic averaged 11.8 points per game this year and shot 38.5 percent from the 3-point line, which led the team and was eighth in the ICCAC. He also averaged 5.2 rebounds per game and 2.4 assists per contest.

Lane came in at 9.9 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game. He also shot 59.4 percent from the floor, which was third in the conference and first on the team.
