Five more sign with NFL teams

Undrafted free agents sign; tryouts for 12

After the completion of the 2019 NFL Draft, a total of 17 football players from Iowa, Iowa State and Northern Iowa signed free agent contracts or were granted tryouts.

The three-day, seven-round NFL Draft concluded on Saturday with six Iowa and Iowa State players selected. As of Sunday evening, another five players had signed with NFL teams.

From Iowa, offensive linemen Keegan Render (Philadelphia Eagles) and Ross Reynolds (San Francisco 49ers), wide receiver Nick Easley (Buffalo Bills) and defensive lineman Matt Nelson (Detroit Lions) had signed, while Iowa State wide receiver Matt Eaton had joined up with the Green Bay Packers.

Four more Hawkeyes had been awarded tryouts with NFL teams: defensive end Sam Brincks (Green Bay), defensive back Jake Gervase (Oakland), wide receiver Kyle Groeneweg (Minnesota) and defensive end Parker Hesse (Detroit and Kansas City).

An additional three Iowa State players will receive tryouts: linebacker Willie Harvey (Cleveland and Jacksonville), Brian Peavy (Arizona) and tight end Sam Seonbuchner (Green Bay and Buffalo).

Five UNI Panthers got tryouts as well: quarterback Eli Dunne (Atlanta), kicker Austin Errthum (Kansas City), defensive linemen Bryce Douglas and Rickey Neal Jr. (Minnesota) and tight end Elias Nissen (Chicago).
