MHS girls golf second at Ankeny

ANKENY — The Marshalltown girls golf team had its best 18-hole showing of the season on Thursday by placing second in the Ankeny Invite with a score of 388.

Freshman Amber Henson placed fourth individually for the Bobcats by shooting an 83 at Otter Creek Golf Course and sophomore Kyra Feldman came in 12th with a 95.

Emma Younkin had her career-best 18-hole score with a 100, which placed her in 15th, and Norah Wilson and Brynn Van Buren both shot 110s.

West Des Moines Valley was the team champs with a 322, and Paige Hoffman took medalist honors for the Tigers with a 74.

Marshalltown heads to Veenker Memorial Golf Course on Monday in Ames for the Turk Bowman Invite, starting at 10 a.m.
