SPORTS SHORTS: GMG boys beat back Baxter in dual

CONRAD — The GMG boys golf team picked up an Iowa Star Conference dual win over Baxter on Tuesday, 174-222 at Oakwood Country Club.

Aaron Fleming was the meet medalist for the Wolverines by carding a 3-over-par 38, and he was followed by Kamrin Chizek and Ryan Hunt with a 45 each and Kolton Gill with a 46.

Austin Good was the top scorer for the Bolts with a 48, followed by Derrik Klemme with a 49, Shane Beougher with a 61 and Andrew Klemme with a 64.

East Marshall boys get past BCLUW

The East Marshall boys golf team beat NICL West Division foe BCLUW at Wandering Creek Golf Course on Tuesday, 189-208.

Brayden Fahrni had the top score for the Mustangs with a 4-over-par 40, and he was followed by Eric Ommen with a 46, Seth Freese with a 46 and Ethan Espenscheid with a 57.

Lane Stanley also shot a 40 to lead the Comets, while Kade Pekarek had a 47, Ray Callaway shot a 60 and Angus Callaway had a 61.

Comets collect hardware vs. Mustangs

The BCLUW girls golf team won an NICL West Division dual against East Marshall at Wandering Creek Golf Course on Tuesday, 185-256.

Jaelyn Allen was the meet medalist for the Comets with a 4-over-par 40, and BCLUW had each of the top four scores. Bailey Ashton was next with a 45, followed by Lili Wilson with a 46, and Kennedy Williams with a 54.

Kayla Mommer was the top scorer for the Mustangs with a 55, followed by Jazy Leavy with a 63, Cami Weeks with a 68 and Kennedy Boliver with a 70.

Bolts topple Wolverines on the links

CONRAD — The GMG girls golf team lost an Iowa Star Conference dual to Baxter on Tuesday at Oakwood Country Club, 235-265.

Rachel Slifer had the top mark for the Wolverines with a 58, and she was followed by Jenna Yilek with a 65 and Maya Goos and Jadyn Hessenius with a 71 respectively.

Sadie Meyer was the meet medalist for the Bolts with a 54, while Sophie Meyer followed with a 58, Piper Lawson turned in a 59 and Bekka Watt had a 64.
