DES MOINES — The Marshalltown boys soccer team’s first trip to the state tournament in 18 years will have to wait another day.

Due to field conditions and scheduling, the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s 2019 State Soccer Tournament at Cownie Soccer Park has been postponed.

The entire tournament schedule will be pushed back one day, starting with quarterfinals on Friday, semifinals on Saturday and the consolation and championship finals on Tuesday. The match times and field assignments will not change.

The final day of the tournament will skip to Tuesday due to IHSAA policy prohibiting postseason play on Sundays and the previously scheduled Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union’s regional soccer finals on Monday.

The fifth-ranked Bobcats (16-2) will face No. 11 Cedar Rapids Washington (13-5) at 5:10 p.m. Friday on Field 7.
