SAN JOSE, Calif. — Former Marshalltown Community College center Eduardo Lane will continue his basketball career at San Jose State University, the Trojans announced on Tuesday.

Lane averaged 9.9 points and 4.4 rebounds in 30 appearances last season for the Tigers, starting in 15 of them and recording double-digit scoring outputs in 14. He topped 20 points twice, including a season-high 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting against eventual NJCAA Division II champs Kirkwood on Nov. 28.

“I’m looking forward to joining San Jose State and am excited about the new changes and challenges of going there to play in the Mountain West,” Lane said. “It’s a new team, new coaches, new experiences and new everything. I’m thankful for the opportunity that Coach Prioleau has given me to become a Spartan.”

San Jose State struggled a season ago, going 4-27 overall and 1-17 in the Mountain West Conference, but the rebuilding program will allow Lane a chance to contribute early in his tenure with the Spartans.
