Snider selected as ICCAC Player of the Year

MCC’s Terrell earns first-team all-region honor

Brooke Snider

AMES — Indian Hills Community College freshman second baseman Brooke Snider was named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Division I Player of the Year.

Snider, in her first year after graduating from West Marshall, finished the season ranked near the top in three statistical categories. She led the ICCAC in RBIs with 66 and tied for the lead in home runs with 23 dingers. She was also fourth in the conference in batting average after hitting .423 this year.

Snider was also named as a first-team all-NJCAA Region XI infielder after the Warriors won the Region XI tournament.

Marshalltown had one girl on the all-region first team, with Saydee Terrell earning the honor as a utility player. Terrell hit .347 this season with 18 home runs and 34 RBIs, leading the Tigers in all three categories and finishing third in the ICCAC in homers.

Terrell also filled in as a pitcher in spots when the team needed her to as the Tigers were down to just nine active bodies by the end of the year.
