AMES — Marshalltown Community College sophomore shorstop Candido Encarnacion and freshman center fielder Tyler Coleman were named to the NJCAA Division I Region XI all-tournament team, the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference announced last week.

Encarnacion hit .362 with 25 RBIs and hit six home runs for his first selection in his Tiger career.

Coleman was selected as an outfielder, where he committed only three errors all season, which gave him a field percentage of .957. At the plate, Coleman had a .278 average, including six dingers and nine stolen bases.

A quartet of Tigers were selected to the second team, with sophomores Elijah Bergeron and David Davilla and freshmen Tom Josten and Luis Menendez all making the squad. This was Bergeron’s second-straight second-team honor and the first for the other three.

Jacob Medcalf rounded out the all-region honors for Marshalltown with an honorable mention.
