Jose Torres

MASON CITY — The Class 3A No. 7 Marshalltown boys soccer team was locked in a 0-0 tie with Mason City at halftime of their CIML Iowa Conference tilt on Tuesday night, but once again Jose Torres changed all of that.

Torres netted two goals in the second half, one in the 45th minute and one in the 74th minute, to give the Bobcats a 2-0 victory and their 13th-straight win. Torres also led MHS (13-1, 4-0) with 10 total shots and seven shots on goal.

Ronaldo Ordaz had five shots and Kabba Pins, Brandon Ordaz Sanchez and Jack Play all had four shots. Jesus Munoz picked up the win with another clean sheet, the 11th shutout for Marshalltown in the last 13 games.

Next up is a big game for the Bobcats, as they travel to put their win streak on the line against No. 1 Waukee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
