Bobcat Wrestling Camp coming soon

The inaugural Bobcat Wrestling Camp will be held July 23-25 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the new Allie Morrison Wrestling Training Room at the Marshalltown High School Roundhouse for wrestlers in grades K-12.

The camp was created to help connect former MHS wrestlers with future Bobcats while growing wrestling in Marshalltown’s new state-of-the-art facility.

Admission to the camp is $15 per youth, but it’s free admission to all Marshalltown High School and Marshalltown Wrestling Club wrestlers.

Featured camp clinicians will be former MHS state placewinner Larry Jackson, a 1981 Marshalltown graduate, and Josh Edel, a two-time state placewinner as a Bobcat. Jackson went on to win a national championship at Ellsworth Community College in 1983, while Edel was an NCAA Division III All-American for Coe College this past winter.

Also featured will be Jim Miller, a former Northern Iowa wrestler and Wartburg College coach. Miller won D-II national titles for UNI in 1974 and 1975 while posting a career record of 128-22. Wartburg won eight-straight Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships under his guidance, and he was inducted into the Iowa Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2000.
