Pair of Panthers picked for conference awards

ST. LOUIS — Isaiah Weston was named the Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week and Chris Kolarevic was named MVFC Defensive Player of the Week after the 42-27 win over South Dakota.

Weston hauled in four catches for a career-high of 189 yards and three touchdowns. Weston has now scored in six consecutive games which is the first time since Eddie Berlin scored in seven consecutive games in 2000.

Weston leads the MVFC with eight receiving touchdowns and 699 receiving yards.

Kolarevic recorded a career-high of 19 tackles and a sack on Saturday’s win.

In just Kolarevic’s fourth game of the season since returning from an injury he is fifth on the UNI defense with 43 tackles.

The Panthers have now earned eight Player of the Week honors this season.

UNI travels to face Missouri State on Saturday in a 2 p.m. MVFC game Springfield, Mo.
