Marshalltown’s four-year starting setter has finally been rewarded for her efforts.

MHS senior Madi Finch has been named to the all-CIML Iowa Conference first team for the first time in a career in which she compiled more than 2,000 assists. Finch was the Bobcats’ lone representative on the eight-player first team in a conference that featured the Class 5A state runner-up in West Des Moines Valley and state qualifier Waukee.

Finch totaled 2,138 assists in four seasons, serving as a part-time starter as a freshman and the only setter for the Marshalltown High School volleyball squad for the last three years. This fall she finished fourth in the conference with 133 assists in league play while serving 61-for-66 with seven aces.

Finch had been named to the all-conference honorable mention team each of the last two seasons.

Marshalltown senior outside hitter Erica Johnson garnered second-team honors for the second-straight season after finishing ninth in the conference with 45 kills. She was one of the top servers in the CIML Iowa, going 83-for-84 with 12 aces, and was fourth in the division with 87 total digs.

The Bobcats’ honorable mention selections this fall were sophomore Autumn Finch and junior Kyra Feldman. Finch, a middle hitter, repeated the honor after finishing first in the conference in blocks (14) and fourth in kills (56). Feldman, Marshalltown’s libero, was 10th in the league in digs (47) and 11th in service aces (10).
