Former Cyclone Klein signs deal with Bills

AJ Klein

AJ Klein has a new NFL home for the 2020 season — whenever that season takes place.

The Iowa State alum signed a three-year, $18 million deal with the Buffalo Bills late Monday night, according to multiple reports.

The 28-year-old linebacker spent the last three seasons with the New Orleans Saints after joining from Carolina. Klein had 69 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 2019. He was drafted by the Panthers in the fifth round of the 2013 draft and worked with Bills head coach Sean McDermott when he was Carolina’s defensive coordinator.

The amount of guaranteed money in the deal has not yet been disclosed. The contract will officially be signed when the NFL’s legal tampering period ends at noon EDT today.
