CHICAGO — Norwalk High School senior point guard Bowen Born has been named the 2019-20 Gatorade Iowa Boys Basketball Player of the Year.

Born, a Northern Iowa recruit, was named Iowa’s Mr. Basketball after leading the Warriors to a Class 3A state basketball championship. The 5-foot-11 guard averaged 36.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.2 steals while leading the state with 262 3-pointers made this season. He also boasts a 3.57 grade point average.

Born is now a finalist for the prestigious Gatorade National Boys Basketball Player of the Year award, though the announcement has been temporarily postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
