AJ Green withdraws name from NBA Draft
After taking the time to gather feedback from NBA teams and scouts to gauge where he was at, Northern Iowa star AJ Green will withdraw from the NBA Draft process and return for his junior season with the Panthers.
The reigning Larry Bird Player of the Year award winner in the Missouri Valley Conference, Green averaged 19.7 points per game in 2019-20, shooting 39.1 percent from 3-point range and 91 percent from the free-throw line. Green dished out three assists per game and grabbed three rebounds per contest.
The now-junior led the Panthers to a regular-season conference title, and with a bitter taste from a MVC Tournament quarterfinals loss to Drake still in the minds of UNI fans, he’ll be attempting to go one step further in the 2020-21 season. The Panthers were a bubble team for the NCAA Tournament before it was canceled due to COVID-19.
