Becca Hittner and Sara Rhine

Former Drake women’s basketball standouts Becca Hittner and Sara Rhine have both signed contracts with professional basketball clubs in Spain.

Hittner signed with C.B. Al-Qázeres while Rhine signed with Club Polideportivo Bembibre. The clubs are in the same league — LF Endesa — and will compete against each other. Their season is scheduled to begin mid-September.

The duo had their decorated collegiate careers end suddenly in March due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the abrupt end, Rhine (2,186) and Hittner (2,133) rank fifth and sixth, respectively, in career points at Drake along with ranking in several other all-time school and Missouri Valley Conference categories. They each won numerous MVC and national awards for their performance on the basketball court and in the classroom.

Drake qualified for three-straight NCAA Tournaments while winning five MVC titles in their careers.
