Panthers bounced by Bison, 85-68
FARGO, N.D. — Heaven Hamling and Emily Dietz scored 20 points apiece to lead the North Dakota State women’s basketball team to a victory in its opener, an 85-68 triumph over Northern Iowa on Wednesday night at the Scheels Center.
Ryan Cobbins and Reneya Hopkins added 11 points apiece for the Bison (1-0), who lost to UNI in last year’s opener 95-63.
Nicole Kroeger had 13 points, Emerson Green had 12, and Karli Rucker and Kam Finley added 11 each for the Panthers (1-2), who shot just 37.1 percent from the field to NDSU’s 52.6.
UNI goes on the road Sunday to face Wichita State at 5 p.m.
