Colton Dinsdale

IOWA CITY — Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School graduate Colton Dinsdale was named to the 2020 Big Ten Fall Academic All-Conference team for the second year in a row as a member of the University of Iowa football squad.

Dinsdale, a 2016 G-R grad, was one of 26 Hawkeye football players honored. The 5-foot-11, 232-pound linebacker/fullback is majoring in enterprise leadership.

To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be on a varsity team in the fall, enrolled full-time and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

Dinsdale was the captain of the Iowa Newspaper Association’s All-State football team for Class A in 2015 after helping Gladbrook-Reinbeck win its first of two-straight state championships. He was the recipient of the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s Bernie Saggau Award, a finalist for the Ed Thomas Mr. Football Award and an Iowa Shrine Bowl participant.

Before transferring to the University of Iowa, Dinsdale was a second-team all-region honoree at Iowa Western Community College and an NJCAA All-Academic selection while helping the Reivers win the Graphic Edge Bowl in 2017.
