PREP BASKETBALL: Balanced BCLUW attack leads to NICL West road win
ELDORA — Three players scored in double figures and the BCLUW girls’ basketball team bounced South Hardin 55-33 in Friday’s NICL West Division game.
Allison Engle led the Comets with 20 points, Chloe Walters scored 14 points and Betula Messerly posted a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. Lizzie Garber chipped in with eight points, Walters had eight rebounds and Engle added seven boards for the Comets (4-6, 2-3).
Maddie Maifeld had 10 points to lead South Hardin (2-9, 1-4).
Roland-Story 38, West Marshall 37
STATE CENTER — Katy Reyerson’s potential game-winning shot at the buzzer just missed its mark as the West Marshall girls’ basketball team fell 39-38 to Class 3A No. 11 Roland-Story on Friday night in Heart of Iowa Conference play.
Reyerson finished with team-highs of 25 points, eight rebounds and five steals to lead the Trojans (7-4, 3-2). Avery Randall added six points and Lauren Solberg had five more. Delaney Nichols pitched in with five rebounds.
Reece Johnson and Reagan Barkema led Roland-Story (5-3, 4-0) with 11 points apiece, and Madison Martindale added seven points for the Norse.

Roland-Story 60, West Marshall 21
STATE CENTER — Joey Tollefson led West Marshall with seven points in a 60-21 Heart of Iowa Conference loss.
Peyton Hart added four points and three rebounds for the Trojans (3-6, 1-4).
Roland-Story (7-0, 4-0) led 31-7 at the half.
