Pfantz helps East Marshall top GMG

LE GRAND — East Marshall junior Emma Pfantz faced the minimum over five innings as the Mustang softball team blanked GMG 10-0 in a non-conference meeting here Friday.

Pfantz struck out three, walked none and allowed only one hit. Another GMG batter reached on an error, but both Wolverine baserunners were erased trying to advance later in the inning.

The Mustang offense slowly caught up to GMG freshman pitcher Adelyn Sienknecht, finally erupting with five runs in the third inning on the way to a run rule-shortened victory. Morgan Neuroth went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored, while Jayleigh Pansegrau and Pfantz added two hits apiece.

Only three of East Marshall’s 10 runs came earned to Sienknecht, who walked one and struck out one.
