JD Pollard

Former Marshalltown High School golfer JD Pollard earned weekly honors from the ICCAC on Tuesday, being named Athlete of the Week in men’s golf.

Pollard tied a Kirkwood Community College scoring record over the weekend, shooting a 6-under-par 66 at the Klocke Classic and birdieing five of his final six holes to finish the round. He then shot 3-under 69 the next day, breaking a school record for two-day totals with 9-under 135. He won the event by six shots over fellow Kirkwood golfer Brandon McCarty to help the Eagles win the meet as a team.

Up next for Pollard is the Spring Preview at the Preserve at Lake Rathbun in Moravia, held Monday.
