AMES — The Marshalltown boys’ golf team finished 13th out of 17 teams at the Turk Bowman Invite on Monday, succumbing to a daunting Veenker Memorial Golf Course after carding a 352 total. Johnston won with a 300.

The Bobcats get a second chance at Veenker again today in an Iowa Alliance Conference triangular meet including Fort Dodge.

Eli Polley led Marshalltown on this day with a round of 85. Jacob Thiessen was next on the scoresheet with his 86, Ryan Schmit shot a 90 and Brecken Payne came in with a 91 to round out the team scoring.

Ty Faltys (93) and Kyle Smith (107) also competed as part of the Bobcat roster.

Tuesday’s conference triangular begins at 3:30 p.m. in Ames.
