Roadrunners dash past MCC in Moberly tourney
MOBERLY, Mo. — The Marshalltown Community College men’s basketball team got trampled in the second half in a 70-49 loss to State Fair CC on Saturday at the Moberly Area Thanksgiving Classic.
The Tigers (6-4) led 34-30 at halftime before getting outscored 40-15 in the second half, sending MCC to its third straight loss.
Chin Hanson scored 14 points to go with nine rebounds to lead State Fair, which was receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Division I men’s basketball poll. Jon Brandtner added 12 points and five boards for the Roadrunners (11-1).
Jayden Hill scored a game-high 16 points to lead MCC. Tre’von Coney, Richard Udoagwa and Ahmed Ibrahim added eight points apiece, and Shane Lieuw-On made a pair of 3-pointers in the second half.
The Tigers take on host Moberly in the tournament finale Saturday at 7 p.m.
