The Marshalltown Community College men’s soccer team had four players named to the All-Region XI teams, highlighted by first-team selection Luciano Cortes.

Cortes, a freshman center-back from Santiago, Chile, was the Tigers’ lone representative on the 14-player all-region first team.

Freshman center-back Tomu Yamaguchi, from Okinawa, Japan, represented MCC on the all-region second team.

Honorable mention selections went to freshman forward Ricardo Paiva and sophomore goalkeeper Tim Straubmueller. Paiva led MCC with four goals and 10 points, while Straubmueller was 2-3 in five games in net for the Tigers (5-10-1, 3-6-0).
