The Marshalltown High School girls’ bowling team was defeated in its season-opening dual, falling 2,095-1,775 to Newton on Tuesday at Wayward Social.

The Bobcats were led by Bailey Damman with an individual score of 120-168–288. Ariana Villagomez (141-135–276) and Camillya Thomas (144-128–272) also contributed. Aubrey Webber (198) and Ray Massa (185) rounded out the team’s scoring.

Gabbie Humphrey rolled a 138-205–343 for Newton to lead all individuals. The visiting Cardinals also outscored MHS in baker games, 1,377-1,219.
