The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Nov. 4. Bond is set at $15,000 cash only. Upon release Sanders will have 60 days to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit it to the court.

• Kristopher Scott Smith made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense, a carrying weapons charge, a possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, an operation without registration charge, a no insurance charge, a no valid driver’s license charge and a fraudulent use of registration charge.
