Woman charged with theft, drugs and gun possession
A woman has been arrested on multiple charges after authorities discovered two stolen vehicles, a handgun and drugs at her rural Marshall County residence.
On Friday, the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, along with the Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force, with the assistance of the State Center Police Department, learned of the possible location of two stolen vehicles at 2929 Lafayette Ave., in the unincorporated community of Van Cleve, east of Melbourne.
A search warrant was executed and officials located a Bobcat utility vehicle, reported stolen from Webster County, as well as a Yamaha scooter, reported stolen from Ames. During the search, authorities also found a handgun with an altered serial number, ammunition and a small quantity of methamphetamine.
Marshall County Sheriff-elect Steve Hoffman said authorities arrested Diana Bustamante, 39, and charged her with being a felon in possession of a firearm; possession of a Schedule II substance (third or subsequent offense) -- a Class D felony; possession of stolen property (theft first) -- a Class C felony; and possession of stolen property (theft second) -- a Class D felony.
Bustamante, a federal parolee, has been in trouble with the law before. Back in March of 2014, Bustamante was arrested and charged with attempting to deliver meth alongside her then 17-year-old son.
She is currently being held in the Marshall County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
Additional arrests are pending as the investigation continues.
Man faces host of charges
A Le Grand man was taken to the Marshall County Jail earlier this week on numerous charges including domestic abuse assault – impeding flow of air and or blood.
John Brandon Robovsky, 32, was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled substance – methamphetamine – first offense, failure to provide prof of financial liability and operation without registration, according to a report from the Marshall County Sheriff's Office. Bond is cash or surety.
Man faces burglary charges
The State Center Police Department arrested a resident on burglary charges earlier this week. Benjamin York, 33, was charged with burglary-second degree, a Class C felony. York was transported to the Marshall County Jail. Preliminary hearing in Marshall County District Court is 1 p.m., Dec. 19, Bond is $10,000 cash or surety.

• Tyler Scott Eatock, of Slater, made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated-first offense charge. Eatock will hire his own counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 28. Eatock was released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted within 60 days.
• Alejandra Ramos made an initial appearance on two counts of a compulsory education violation charge. Both were dismissed with court costs of $60 assessed on one.
