Tuesday

• Marvin Dominick Duran made an initial appearance on two counts of a probation violation charge. Duran will represent self. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled at 2:30 p.m. on July 13. Bond is set at $4,000 cash or surety.

• Gregory Darnell Brown made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault with intent to inflict serious injury charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 3. Brown is released on his promise to appear. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Kelly Marie Brown made an initial appearance on a firearm violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 3. Brown is released on her promise to appear.

• Randy Ray Edwards made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense-methamphetamine charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 3. Edwards is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office no later than 4 p.m. today to sign a pre-trial release agreement. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days of today’s date.

• Joshua Matthew Studdard made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge. Studdard will hire his own counsel. The contempt hearing is scheduled at 2:30 p.m. on June 28. Studdard is released on his promise to appear. If he owns or possesses any firearms or ammunition, 7 is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

Grundy County Sheriff

Arrests

• On Saturday, Anthony Brandt, 23, of Holland, was arrested for driving while revoked and driving under suspension. Brandt was released on his promise to appear.

• On Saturday, Shane Pabst, 30, of Wellsburg, was arrested for assault on an officer and disorderly conduct. Pabst was released on a $25,000 bond.

Marshalltown Police Department

Arrests

• On Monday, Robert Paul Junck was arrested for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

• On Monday, Gregory Darnell Brown was arrested for domestic abuse assault with the intent to inflict serious injury.

• On Monday, Randy Ray Edwards was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense.

• On Monday, Kelly Brown was arrested for control of a firearm by a domestic abuse offender.

• On Monday, Michael Davis was arrested for driving under suspension.

Accidents

• On Monday, a car driven by a 17-year-old male from Marshalltown was southbound on South Center Street nearing Westwood Drive when it collided with the rear of a Jeep driven by Frances Kay Kirk, of Marshalltown, which was stopped for the light. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,500 each.

• On Saturday, a Jeep driven by Vickie Lucy Westcott, of Ferguson, was northbound on South Sixth Street when it collided with the rear of a pickup driven by Bonnie Jean Budge, of Marshalltown, that was parked diagonally in a driveway with the rear sticking out into the bicycle lane while delivering pizza. Budge was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown by ambulance. Damage to the Budge pickup was estimated at $3,500 while the Westcott Jeep received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

• On May 19, a vehicle driven by Yadira Sanchez Leon, of Marshalltown, was northbound on 18th Avenue when it collided with the rear of a pickup driven by Matthew Dean Robinson, of Toledo, which was stopped waiting for traffic to clear to make a left turn. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $3,000 each.

Marshall County Sheriff

Arrests

• On Monday, Anita Maria Nevarez-Ramos was arrested for operation without registration or plate, operating vehicle without interlock device, theft-fifth degree, fraudulent use of registration, no valid driver’s license, no insurance, driving under suspension and driving while barred.

• On Monday, Joshua Matthew Studdard was arrested for violation of a no-contact order.

• On Saturday, Taira Lynn Herrington was arrested on a warrant.

• On Friday, Brian Joseph Brimson Sr. was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana-first offense, operating while under the influence-first offense and failure to maintain control.

• On Friday, Jean Julian Burhama was arrested for driving while barred-habitual offender.

Accidents

• On Sunday, a minivan driven by Mary Kay Wilkens, of Colo, was westbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway resulting in damage to the front hood and bumper. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Wilkens minivan was estimated at $2,300.

• On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Steven Lee Underwood, of Des Moines, was westbound on 330th Street when it went out of control on the gravel, entered the south ditch and continued westbound until it struck an electric pole owned by Consumers Energy. No injuries were reported. Underwood was cited for driving under suspension, failure to maintain control and no insurance. Damage to the Underwood vehicle was estimated at $4,000 while the electric pole received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

• On Saturday, June 10, a car driven by Andrew Phillip Riesberg, of West Des Moines, was northbound on Highway 330 when it struck a deer that entered the travelled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Riesberg car was estimated at $8,000.

• On Thursday, a vehicle driven by Salenea Theasea Mashae Phelps, of Albion, was northbound on Marsh Avenue when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. No injuries were reported. Phelps was cited for no insurance-accident. Damage to the Phelps vehicle was estimated t $4,000.

• On Tuesday, June 6, a car driven by Maelee Chan Ung, of Ankeny, was northbound on Highway 330 when it struck a deer crossing the roadway from the east ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Ung car was estimated at $3,500.
