• Sean Michael McFarlin made an initial appearance on an ongoing criminal conduct charge and a conspiracy to manufacture or distribute methamphetamine charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 18. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Delilah Elaine Mauskemo made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for an arraignment hearing charge. Merrill Swartz will continue as counsel. The arraignment hearing is rescheduled at 1 p.m. on May 7. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Michelle Marie Grommet made an initial appearance on an unlawful disposal of waste charge. Grommet will represent herself before the court on this case. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 10. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Hannah Angel Corson made an initial appearance on two counts of a child endangerment charge and a operating while under the influence-first offense charge. Norma Meade is hired as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 18. Corson is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 48 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days. No-contact orders have been issued for the protected parties.

• Michael Thomas Martel made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Martel pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $282.75, due within 30 days.

• Aung Lwin Win made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a pre-trial conference charge. Aron Vaughn will continue as counsel. The pre-trial conference will be rescheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

Accidents

• On Sunday, April 29, a minivan driven by Lynn Louise Maas, 67, of Marshalltown, was exiting a parking spot in a parking lot in the 200 block of East Boone Street when it struck a legally parked Chevy Captiva. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $2,000 each.

• On Friday, April 27, a vehicle driven by Dolores Yvonne Reece, 82, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on Iowa Avenue West attempting to turn left onto South Sixth Street when it sideswiped a car driven by Baylee Austin Waldo, 22, of Gilman, which was sitting at a red light. Passenger Connie Elaine Mommer, 59, of Gilman, was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown. Damage to the Reece vehicle was estimated at $1,000 while the Waldo car received an estimated $200 in damage.

• On Sunday, April 15, a car driven by Omer Abdalla Omer, 43, of Marshalltown, was northbound on South Center Street when it ran a red light and broadsided a pickup driven by Tanner Jay Teague, 23, of Newton. Teague was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown. Omer was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device and driving under suspension. Damage to the Omer car was estimated at $2,000 while the Teague pickup received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

• On Friday, Darwin Quinones-Gonzalez, 35, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and on a warrant.
